Rock Choir concert in aid of Braintree Area Foodbank Appeal 2019

5th July 2019

Last year* we saw an unprecedented number of visitors. Braintree Area Foodbank have fed 4,800 people with over 2,000 of them being children and with the stagnation of wages, low incomes, rise in living costs and Universal credit we continually need the help supplied by local communities.

In answer to our plea Rock Choir are holding a fundraising event in aid of Braintree Area Foodbank on Saturday 13th July 2019 at Christ Church Methodist/URC Church Braintree from 7pm to 9pm

Rock Choir is the pioneering contemporary choir of the UK and remains unique with over 20,000, members across the UK. Each member is welcomed into the Rock Choir family and their journey allows music, friendship and a new found confidence to impact their everyday lives. They have created a safe, up-lifting, and exciting experience for all who attend.

Rock Choir prides itself on its inclusivity welcoming members and families from all sections of society coming together and brushing aside disability, race and LGBT exclusion to create something magical through song. There are no auditions required to join Rock Choir.

Vanessa Green, PR Manager, for the Foodbank said ‘Braintree Area Foodbank are delighted that Rock Choir are holding a benefit concert for us. We are in desperate needs of funds and the money raised will help us to continue our work across Braintree, Halstead, Witham and the surrounding villages. It costs over £45,000 a year to run the Foodbank. Costs include maintaining our van, centres, warehouse and offices. Without financial donations we would not be able to feed the next 4,000 visitors. Thank you to Rock Choir for supporting us’
