As the coronavirus pandemic unfolds in the UK, our main priority is ensuring the safety of everyone who comes to our food bank – whether it’s someone needing help, someone volunteering their time, or someone making a donation.
Things are changing quickly, so we’ll keep this page updated regularly with information about what’s happening at www.braintreearea.foodbank.org.uk and how people can access support and help us be there for people in crisis.
Please Note: Food parcels will only be given to those with a voucher. If you do not have a voucher we cannot give you a food parcel. It is with regret that we are unable to be a substitute supermarket and can only distributed food parcels to those in food crisis.. If you find yourself in this situation please contact one of our referral agencies such as Braintree District Council, your Health Visitor or your housing association.
We’re still supporting people with emergency food but we’re running a reduced service from 30th March 2020 due to both Church and Government measures put in place to slow the spread of infection. We cannot invite you in and give you our normal service and hope that you understand why we are having to operate this way during the pandemic period
