Winter Appeal – How to take part

2nd November 2021

Winter Appeal 2021

This year those visiting us will have experienced, still experiencing or will experience hardship. So far this year we have fed over 4,000 people with over half being on low incomes.

The reduction in Universal Credit is leaving families facing the reality of food prioritisation giving children and the vulnerable food whilst going without themselves.  The ending of the furlough scheme has led to some people losing their jobs. Rent caps are no longer in place allowing landlords to charge higher rents. and the rise in fuel costs.  We will see more in food poverty before the end of the year.

This year’s winter appeal is asking for specific stock items to make sure we can meet the needs of our visitors.

Although Christmas food is a ‘treat’ we need to keep our stock up of our shopping list items to be able to provide basic meals which is why we are not asking for specific Christmas items.

We have put together a Winter Appeal 2021 Poster and a Reverse Advent Calendar 2021 for  you to use.

Could we please ask that donations reach us by 20th December 2021 to ensure our centres are stocked leading up to the festive period.

Your donations will make a difference and thank you so much.
