Lived Experiences

Share your stories with us because your voice matters

Can you help us by sharing your story?

We need to raise awareness of the Foodbank’s vital work.

We know that people listen when they hear real lived experiences – it’s one of the most powerful ways of engaging people with what needs to change.

Your story can help us to raise awareness and much needed funds

Unfortunately, food poverty exists and people need to know about it. The need for Foodbanks has become greater. We want to campaign for change whilst also meeting the needs of people in the Braintree District.

Often we just get numbers and data surrounding the support we give. Can you help us to demonstrate the human side of the work we do? All stories will be stored confidentially and names will be changed for anonymity.

Plugging the gaps

Your story will help us to understand what support is most needed and help us to provide the right support for more people in the future.

Often there are several factors that come together, contributing to food insecurity and hunger. Our centres in Braintree, Halstead, Sible Hedingham and Witham can help plug the gaps for people in times of need.

Scrap the stigma

Your story can help to change attitudes and help more people understand modern hardship. It may also encourage others to reach out for support. Braintree Area Foodbank can also signpost to external organisations that may be able to help with other needs.

Together for change

Your story can help give a voice to food poverty. We want to educate others about the hardship faced by people in Braintree and the surrounding areas and show the need for local Foodbanks and the impact they can have to support people in challenging times.

Shape the future

Your story will help us to better support others in the future and can help us push for governmental policy change.

Our Lived Experiences project is important to help us raise awareness of the need for Braintree Area Foodbank and to secure funding from local companies and individuals so we can continue to support local people.

All stories will be stored confidentially and names will be changed for anonymity.
