Record 2.5 million emergency food parcels given to people across UK with just under 1m going to children – that’s two parcels every minute.
Last year, food banks in the The Trussell Trust network gave out a record 2.5 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. At Braintree Area Foodbank, we fed 5,842 people, 48% of those were children. This isn’t right. No one should be forced to use a food bank because they can’t afford the essentials. That’s why we’re calling on candidates in the May elections to commit to working to end the need for #foodbanks. Let’s work together towards a #HungerFreeFuture.
