Braintree Area Foodbank is delighted to receive a grant from the Governments Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund. This is being delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund.
Set up in 2023 the Fund aims to help those organisations that are on the front line delivering much needed services to their local communities. Obtaining a grant can be a lengthy process and Braintree Area Foodbank are thankful that their application was successful.
Vanessa Green, a spokesperson for Braintree Area Foodbank, said ‘This award allows us to keep doing our vital work within the local community. We are seeing more and more people each year and this is having a huge impact on the amount of food that we need to be able to feed this demand. This Grant means that we will be able to buy food to meet some of this demand.’
Vanessa continued ‘We have a great team that works for Braintree Area Foodbank and part of this Grant will allow us to pay for the staffing roles that are so vital to the Foodbank’
