What food do we need?
Donations are down yet visitors are up
We find ourselves in a difficult situation where donations are down yet the number of people we are feeding each month is increasing. In 2024 we gave out over 12,000 food parcels and had to spend over £50,000 on food. This is a trend we can’t continue to sustain so if you could make just one donation of just one item below, you would be helping us to help those facing the prospect of going hungry.
If you would be able to put up a copy of our shopping list to help us gain more awareness it would be really appreciated. Harvest Festival 2024 Shopping List
Thank you for your continued support
Thank you all for your donations. We really couldn’t continue without your generosity.
* Please note: We ask for small packs as larger packs do not fit in our boxes making it difficult for our clients to carry home we are also unable (for hygiene reasons) to split large size or catering packs.
BankTheFood
Ever walked into the supermarket, seen the Foodbank box and wondered what Foodbank needs this month? Have you tried the app BanktheFood? This app pings whenever you approach one of our donation points and will give you an up-to-date list of the items we need.

Further information
We follow the standards set by the Food Standards Agency. We can only accept donations of unopened and undamaged goods that are still well within their “use by” date (no less than six months if possible). Items which do not meet these requirements cannot be used and your donation may be wasted.
We always welcome donations and promise to use them to provide help to people in crisis. Occasionally we send food to other nearby food banks to support their work particularly if they experience shortages. This ensures your donations go to help people wherever in the UK they are.
Please note that only food purchased from the stores below can be accepted within their collection point. Any food donations that are not purchased from these stores needs to be labelled with where it was purchased.
Did you know that, when you donate food you have brought in your Tesco store, Tesco will provide a top up of funds to help us? This is why we need you to donate food only purchased in store.
